Where are You?

Where do I see God?
In the deep blue sea or the sky above?
In the eyes of my lover, in the tears of my child?
Where is God
if there truly is one?

A girl gets raped, no reason for that
still it remains, it is a harsh fact
A boy gets beat up, he's afraid of life
now he's one step closer to the knife

Mankind shrieks: "Reveal yourself!"
for God is no longer among us

Yet there are few, the blessed few
They stand between love and hate
Why do they smile through misery
could it be, that they have faith?

Evil is only the absence of good
it is the air we use to fill our souls with
though we yearn for something more

After all the rich, after all the poor
Jesus screams: "Open the door and I shall give you true meaning!"

For God can not be found among us
only within
