A new beginning 
A new start 
When the winter comes we fall apart 
Promises we made - nothing 
We were supposed to keep each other safe and sound - we did not

Birches have frozen a long time ago 
Their branches covered with ice and snow
They move slowly in the wind 
While I dance with words 

Beauty and silence 
A view from the window, it's solitude
Stillness 
Only echoes left behind 
It's a complete change from summer to winter 
From reviving warmth to numbing cold 
The coldness crept into my heart months ago 

What I see, pointless decorations 
Christmas is late this year 
And over so soon I don't even realize 
it has passed 
And the new year is already behind the door 
Knocking, asking to get in 

Of course, come in
